The Audi UR-Quattro Project - QRSport, Tattenhall

Unsuspecting Audi UR Quattro prior to being dismantled and Sand Blasted, then a quick coat of primer to keep the rust at bay, as you can see from the pictures below, there was a fair bit of metal that had to go.

23/1/2010 - First jobs, disassembly of Front and Rear Suspension sub frames.

Front and Rear subframes.

Rear Differential

Front Hub and front sub frame

Front Spring and hub assembly removed. / Front sub frame with Anti-roll Bar and front wishbones.

Front sub frame stripped down, bushes removed.

25/1/2010 - 2nd Job, Stripping down rear sub frame

Rear Callipers removed

Rear wishbones, hubs and struts removed

Rear control arms removed

Diff removed from rear sub frame

Rear Sub frame now stripped ready to have the bushes removed.

all front and rear suspension stripped ready to be de-bushed, blasted and power coated.

28/1/2010 - Brake Hangers removed from Struts, dull but required task.

30/1/2010 - Interior jet washed ready for ebay sales

all trim and parts that are no longer required organised for ebay sales.

3/02/2010 Bushes removed from Sub frames and Wishbones

8/02/2010 Engine and box split, clutch and fly wheel removed, setup on engine mount.

Manifolds removed, and Turbo Removed, inc front cover and injectors

10/02/2010 Rocker Cover, Head, Water Pump, Alternator, and Sump removed ready for checking Big end bearings

01/03/2010 Kev and Richard start the welding, evident that the under seal need to be removed ;0(

06/03/2010 All suspension components return striped, cleaned and power coated ;0)

10/03/2010 Stripping begins, front arches first.

13/03/2010 More front under seal stripping, and some chassis leg and bulkhead.

15/03/2010 Started to tackle the o/s/r arch, Very thick under seal ;0(

10/05/2010 More Stripping, Richard cracking on with welding repairs and strengthening the shell, He also made a turntable to make things easier for all.

02/06/2010 More Stripping, and more welding. Rear braced, and Boot floor now removed.
Last of the Under seal being removed with a wire brush and a drill.

11/06/2010 Detailed preparation of the N/S/F Wheel Arch, made easier as the car is upside down on the rotisserie.

15/06/2010 Detailed preparation of the O/S/F Wheel Arch, together with starting on the O/S/R arch.

Jan 2011 - Welding continues on the Sil's and The boot floor has been replaced and braced.
